Plan a visit to the current Virginia Beach location
Virginia Home Elevator & Stairlift identifies its Tidewater base at 2589 Quality Court, Suite 316. 101 Mobility’s current branch page lists 5321 Cleveland Street, Suite 204. Hampton Roads Mobility expressly serves Virginia Beach as part of its regional territory; this is not evidence of a separate Virginia Beach storefront.
Before travelling, confirm the exact destination, appointment and working demonstration model. A product photo or branch address does not mean a curved or outdoor system is ready to try. If the question is how the lift will work at a particular landing, ask whether the team can review photos first and arrange a home assessment rather than an unproductive showroom trip.
Virginia Home Elevator & Stairlift · 101 Mobility of Virginia Beach · Hampton Roads MobilityMake the deposit and cancellation rules understandable
Hampton Roads Mobility’s FAQ distinguishes a 75% deposit for curved lifts from a 50% deposit for other products. Those percentages are payment terms for that business, not a local norm. The same FAQ says financing is not currently offered, despite a financing link in the navigation. Ask for current terms in the written proposal.
For a custom system, ask when the design is approved, when fabrication begins and which payments become nonrefundable. Request a complete cash price before reviewing any finance offer from another supplier. The quote should state what is payable on order, installation and completion, plus how a change in the measured route or required features affects the total.
Hampton Roads Mobility · 101 Mobility of Virginia BeachUse the published rental minimum to plan the full period
The Hampton Roads Mobility rental page describes a three-month minimum paid upfront with installation and removal included. It does not provide one complete installed rental amount for all homes. Ask which stair shape and model qualify, how availability is checked and whether the proposed start date is actually reserved.
Include an uncertain end date in the discussion if the equipment is for recovery or a family visit. Ask for the extension rate, who schedules collection, responsibility for maintenance and any charge for early removal. 101 Mobility also advertises rental enquiries, but its reviewed local page does not establish the same minimum; request its own contract rather than transferring another business’s terms.
Hampton Roads Mobility · 101 Mobility of Virginia BeachAftercare depends on who supplied the equipment
Hampton Roads Mobility expressly limits service to equipment it installed or delivered. This is a material issue for a house purchased with an existing lift or a chair obtained privately. Virginia Home Elevator & Stairlift describes multi-brand service, but acceptance of a particular externally supplied system still needs confirmation.
For an existing lift, send the model details and symptoms before booking. Ask about diagnosis, travel, parts availability and the terms if repair is not possible. For new equipment, obtain the manufacturer warranty and the installer’s labor agreement separately. A service contact or a broad availability statement does not establish a guaranteed arrival time when the lift stops working.
Hampton Roads Mobility · Virginia Home Elevator & StairliftAsk the city about approved rehabilitation work
Virginia Beach’s owner-occupied rehabilitation program describes eligibility review, assistance structures and a process involving registered contractors. It is not an unrestricted equipment rebate. Ask the city whether the proposed work can be considered, who must prepare the scope and whether any commitment can be made before approval.
Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia is a separate nonprofit aging resource serving Virginia Beach and other named Hampton Roads communities. It can be a starting point for information and referrals for older residents and families. Neither reviewed source confirms a dedicated stairlift grant or promises that an application will pay for the equipment you choose.
