Use the installed-price example without losing the scope
EZ Able’s Grand Rapids page publishes an installed price for the Bruno Elan on a straight staircase and describes a preliminary quote followed by a site survey. Options are addressed during that process, while curved rails are measured and priced separately. The useful lesson is to connect a price with a named product and configuration, rather than treating it as a market-wide benchmark.
Ask the written proposal to identify the full rail route, seat configuration, required options and excluded work. Include any door that crosses the route and the intended parking position in the assessment. If the proposed equipment changes after the survey, request an updated total before approving it. A screenshot of an advertised standard configuration cannot replace a contract that describes the actual home and equipment.

101 Mobility’s West Michigan branch lists 3876 East Paris Avenue SE, Unit 19. Its own postal address says Grand Rapids, while Bruno’s directory labels the same street address Kentwood. Leaf Home’s stairlift office is listed at 110 54th Street Southwest, Suite B, in Wyoming, Michigan. Those are specific business locations, with demonstration equipment still to confirm.
Ask which model is available to try and whether an appointment is needed. If a visit is proposed simply to discuss products, decide whether the home survey can answer the same questions more directly. A useful demonstration lets the intended rider evaluate the controls and seat, while the assessment settles the actual rail and landing arrangement. Record any difference between the demonstrated model and the quoted one.

101 Mobility explicitly advertises stairlift rentals in West Michigan and names Grand Rapids among the communities it serves. Its local page does not publish a complete rental contract, so ask for the minimum term, initial payment, extension rate, removal and service provisions. Curved equipment appearing in a product range does not prove that the same equipment is available to rent.
For a purchase, obtain the parts warranty and the separate labor and travel terms. If you already own a lift, identify the model and original installer before requesting service. Ask what happens if parts must be ordered and whether routine maintenance is required by the agreement. Service expectations should be settled before the order, while you can still compare the complete long-term commitment rather than just the equipment figure.

Disability Advocates of Kent County describes a home-accessibility team involving occupational therapists and written assessment recommendations. Its Home service page also identifies the Wolters Home Accessibility Center, a place to explore accessible living features and equipment. This is a different kind of enquiry from asking an installer to price a particular rail.
Ask which assessment or visit matches your needs, what it costs and what information you will receive afterward. If the concern includes entering the house, reaching a bathroom or moving through a landing, describe all of it. Share any resulting recommendations with the installer so the equipment quote addresses the actual access task. An assessment or showcase visit does not itself establish a funding award or a prescribed stairlift model.

The City’s Housing Rehabilitation Program sets household and property conditions, including owner occupancy, income limits and requirements concerning title, taxes and insurance. It also describes assistance with the rehabilitation process. A home-modification enquiry should go through that current program information rather than a general claim that all older residents receive free stairlifts.
Explain the proposed access work and ask whether it is eligible, what application or inspection comes first and which contractor procedures apply. If the property is in Kentwood, Wyoming or another nearby municipality, ask about the appropriate program for that jurisdiction. Commercial service across West Michigan and City of Grand Rapids assistance are different boundaries, even when a mailing address uses the same metropolitan name.
