Evidence & accountability

How we research stairlifts.

Sources help you check a claim. Clear limits help you understand what that claim does—and does not—establish.

Four evidence labels

Published primary source

A manufacturer, installer, government agency or program describes its own product, process or terms. This establishes what it publishes, not independent verification of quality.

Editorial planning guidance

Our explanation, question or comparison method. It helps prepare a decision but does not determine personal suitability or issue a permit or benefit approval.

Illustrative example

Invented figures or a conceptual diagram, explicitly labeled. Examples demonstrate a calculation or planning problem and are never counted as real customers or quotes.

Firsthand or specialist evidence

Reserved for work actually performed and documented. None of the current guides claims independent product testing, clinical review or a Hello Upstairs installation.

How we select and check sources

  1. Start with the document responsible for the claim: current program guidance, manufacturer terms or the local authority’s instructions.
  2. Record the jurisdiction, product, date and scope. National marketing does not automatically establish local stock or the contract offered by a dealer.
  3. Identify conflicting or missing details. Where a source cannot be read directly, research records distinguish indexed evidence from direct retrieval.
  4. Write a concise factual summary with a source link, then explain the question the reader needs to resolve.
  5. Check the final page’s links, metadata, layout and interactions. Automated checks cannot certify all facts or predict rankings.

How we handle prices and assistance

Published starting prices stay attached to their configuration and exclusions. We do not calculate market averages from a selected list of advertisements. Assistance listings separate intake, household eligibility, project eligibility and the final award. A closed program remains clearly labeled rather than being presented as available funding.

Dates and corrections

A source-check date records a research action. An article update date records a substantive content change; it is not a guarantee that an offer remains available. Provider evidence older than the configured 45-day publication window must be rechecked before release. Financial terms and application status should also be confirmed directly before a commitment.

Send a correction with the page URL, the statement and the updated official document. Avoid medical details or private home information. hello@helloupstairs.com

Commercial relationships

The current private edition has no active affiliate tracking or paid placement. A future referral relationship must be disclosed where relevant. Supplier lists are not best-to-worst ratings, and research inclusion does not establish a partnership.
